RESTRICTIONS IMPOSED BY THE FINNISH GOVERNMENT

As of 1 February 2022, 83.7 per cent of those aged 12 and over had received at least two vaccine doses. The number of those having received the third dose is nearly 2,5 million.

Some of the restrictions will be lifted in February

• It is still recommended to wear a face mask in all public indoor spaces and on public transport.
• Starting on 1 February establishments that primarily provide food will be allowed to stay open until 9 p.m. Public gyms and swimming pools in the Uusimaa region will be allowed to reopen.

ENTRY RESTRICTIONS AND HEALTH MEASURES IN PLACE IN FINLAND

We highly recommend you regularly check the Finnish Border Guard’s website for the latest updates before travelling to Finland. It is recommended that you use the FINENTRY service before entering Finland. The service is also used for booking an appointment for a COVID-19 test in Finland and it is free of charge.

Persons arriving from outside the EU and the Schengen area who have received a complete series of vaccinations are required to present a negative Covid-19 test result of less than 48 hours as a condition of entry, starting from 21.12.2021. The results of both PCR and Antigen tests are accepted. Check out this list of Covid-19 vaccines accepted in Finland, as well as what kind of vaccination certificate you need.

Persons travelling on a Finnish residence permit are allowed to travel to Finland, even if they have not received a complete Covid-19 vaccination series. Please check the health security measures that apply to you on the website of the Finnish Health Institute and Finnish Border Guard.

CORONAVIRUS VACCINES

COVID-19 vaccines will be offered to everyone in Finland. Vaccination is voluntary and free of charge for all, including healthcare workers. Your municipality of residence in Finland is responsible for organizing the vaccination.
